Shabbat Morning Service and a Report from Mercaz-Canada Executive Director Rabbi Jennifer Gorman

Executive Director Rabbi Jennifer Gorman will give a eeport from Mercaz-Canada during Shabbat services (in place of Rabbi Weiss’ sermon).

Rabbi Jennifer Gorman will share what is the Conservative/Masorti Movement in Israel and around the world, with a summary of recent events in Israel affecting our movement, from the Kotel to the conversion bill and more, and the steps moving forward.

Rabbi Gorman has actively been involved with the Conservative Jewish community for over 35 years through United Synagogue Youth, Camp Ramah, Women’s League, and Schechter Schools. A graduate of Brandeis University, and ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1996, Rabbi Gorman brings a widely varying background, having worked in communities in the United States and Canada, from Hawaii to New York, North Carolina to Toronto. She is a contributor to The Women’s Haftarah Commentary, and is featured on a CD-Rom about prayer produced by the Jewish Student Union of the United States Naval Academy. Rabbi Gorman is also the Executive Director of MERCAZ-Canada and the Canadian Foundation for Masorti Judaism. She is married to Rabbi Sean Gorman of Pride of Israel, and the proud mother to Jesse (a student at Kings and Shaar regular), Gavriel, and Keren.
