Celebrating 10 years of LGBTQ Inclusion in Conservative Judiasm

December 3, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

On December 6, 2006, the Conservative Rabbinical Assembly’s Committee on Jewish Law & Standards ruled that Jewish law permits homosexual Jews to serve as rabbis and cantors and that Jewish law has the space to provide ceremonies that sanctify same-sex relationships between Jews.
10 years later, on December 3, 2016, the Shaar Shalom Synagogue is going to gather at Kiddush for a discussion on how the world has changed. We will hear from a few members of our community about how their LGBTQ identity has impacted their Jewish identity, and together we will study what was the revolutionary thinking that changed Conservative Jewish law 10 years ago. Come find the table with Rabbi Rank and Rabbi Weiss at Kiddush for this communal discussion and study session.
