Special Kabbalat Shabbat Service Honouring an Initiative of the Gordon Danker Education Fund

The Shaar is excited to launch a new initiative for our bnei mitzvah students. Thanks to the Gordon Dankner Education Fund, each new bar/bat mitzvah student will receive her/his own personal, inscribed siddur (prayer book) to use for her/his bar/bat mitzvah preparation. The Dankner family is honoured to celebrate the legacy of Mr. D through the presentation of these siddurim (prayer books) and are honoured to be part of the continuing Jewish practice and life of the students he so loved.
The first presentation of the bar/bat mitzvah siddurim will take place at a Kabbalat Shabbat service, Friday, September 15 at 6:00pm in the main sanctuary. We invite the entire congregation to join together for this special evening, which will feature a spirited, musical Kabbalat Shabbat, followed by an oneg (light refreshments) generously sponsored by the O’Connor family.
